Join us for a morning walk at the Bohn Farms Glacial Habitat Restoration Area led by Dana Hartel. Dana lives nearby and has seen the transformation of the site during the five-year restoration period and the two years of maintenance since the initial work was completed. Resent prescribed burns have been conducted on the site, and these types of burns mimic patterns of nature. We will talk about benefits of burns and see some results. We will venture into the prairies where there is uneven ground and no real trails. The ground may be wet, so waterproof footwear is recommended, along with long pants and insect repellent.
Site address: 9500 County Road B, Winneconne. There is a small parking lot, and additional vehicles may be parked on Welsch Road across the road from the lot.
